RENOWNED FISHING HOT SPOT

For those who love angling, the Brewarrina region offers some of the best fishing in the state. The Barwon River is teeming with species such as Murray Cod, Yellow Belly, Golden Perch, Bream and Catfish, making it a perfect spot for both seasoned and novice fishers.

The cooler months from April to September are optimal, when water levels are usually best and the fish more active.

Check out our maps for local hotspots including The Straight, Black Stump, Boomerang Island, Boat Ramp and Four Mile, just to name a few. Under the old Barwon Bridge and at Gongolgon, on the banks of the Bogan River, are not only picturesque but also rumoured to be bountiful.
